Hot Stones Reflexology

Hot stones have been used for centuries, dating back to 1500BC in China, India and ancient Egypt to ease menstrual pain, aid digestion, ground the soul and improve well-being. The use of warm stones relaxes the body at its deepest level, reduces tension, calms the senses whilst creating harmony and balance.

The heat from the stones penetrates the muscle and therefore the reflexes to a much deeper level than traditional reflexology, bringing about physiological changes. The subtle energies of stones introduced into a treatment promotes an overwhelming sense of relaxation, tranquillity and induces a meditative state. Hot stones have been shown to reduce cortisol levels and therefore a hot stone reflexology treatment is excellent at helping to reduce stress.

Other beneficial effects of hot stones include:

  • Improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage - blood flows more effectively round the body to the kidneys and the heart

  • Increases the release & elimination of toxins - waste products are flushed out the system and organs cleansed

  • Boosts immunity and the lymphatic function;

  • Promotes the release of tension in connective tissues;

  • Reduces muscular tension which will help muscles to relax and repair more efficiently;

  • Enhances relaxation, feelings of comfort and well-being

  • Balances the mind and body

Hot Stone Reflexology Treatments

Hot stones are incorporated into the reflexology session. The first treatment will include a health, diet and lifestyle consultation to help determine your treatment plan and which reflexes to focus on.  Warm stones are initially applied to the lower leg, massaging the calf muscles to increase energy flow. The warm stones are then used to work the reflexes of the feet, opening up the reflex and energy pathways.  At the end of the session I will offer you some homecare advice about ways to improve your health and well-being.
